If you would like me to write a review of your book just let me know. I'm new at this so bear with me until I get my editing legs. Send an email to [email protected]
If you have any suggestions for books to read leave a comment below. I am partial to the muder mystery/suspense novels. Especially if there is a little romance in them. I also like chick lit and romantic comedies. Not as much a fan of sci fi or paranormal, but if it's good I'll read it.

This is the first book I've read about this author. When I first started reading this book I was instantly hook but as I kept going I grew frustrated. I thought one thing was happening in the story line, but then it turned out that it wasn't happening. To explain better. I thought the killer in the book was one person the entire time and then it tricks you and your like wait, what? Don't get me wrong I like being surprised, but I found it to be more deceiving than plot twist.
The book is about a psychologist who is on the radio. I instantly imagined Frasier Crane because that's what she does. Her past comes back to haunt her and she's not sure who she can trust. Her ex-boyfriend, new boyfriend, or co-workers. Everyone is a suspect.
Dr. Sam is a character that you will love. I loved her character because she was feisty and brave. She also didn't have any problem saying what was on her mind and found it fantastic once she started baiting the killer on the radio. I found myself smiling and laughing at her sarcasm toward the killer. I grew frustrated with her attitude toward her stalker though. Things in her house would be out of place or something would happened out of the ordinary and she would dismiss it. I felt like yelling at my book for her to call the police. I kept thinking this chick is crazy for not calling the cops, but then again maybe I thought that because I'm afraid of my own shadows most of the time. Second main character, Ty Wheeler, her next door neighbor, love interest, and possible complete psycho. The whole time I was reading about him I was hoping that he wasn't a psycho because they were perfect for each other. I kept thinking wow what a character, please don't let him turn out to be the killer because that would be more than a little creepy. If you do read this book you will feel the same about Ty Wheeler. You'll want to know psycho or not!
I bought the book because it's part of a series. I thought the series which continues with Cold Blooded would be about Dr. Sam, but I was surprised to learn that it's about the two detective in the story. They are the main characters in the rest of the series, but I feel as if I don't know them. So hopefully in the second book I'll grow to want to read about them.
I give this book ***3/4 stars.

The Grimoire Lichgates (fantasy/YA)
It’s really hard to sum up this book, so bear with me. I would have to start by saying that I don't normally read YA or fantasy/paranormal type books. I've read Twilight and that will probably be the last vampire book I’ll ever read. I loved them, but just not my cup of tea usually. So going into the book I was weary as to if I would like it. I didn't like it, I loved it! The setting, the creatures, the magic all caught my attention and half way through I was itching for the next novel in the Lichgates series. Then I realized it's not out yet.
(don’t worry I don’t give anything away. At least I hope not) I'm not sure how to describe this book. There is actions, adventures, romance, magic, mythical creatures, and suspense. Kara Margari, was out for a hike when she stumbled across a magical world that was both beautiful and dangerous. She finds herself on a journey she didn't sign up, but can't refuse as she tries to bring peace to the worlds that inhabit within the Lichgates. Along the way she becomes friend with Braeden Drakonin who himself has many secrets and is running away from who he truly is. The two form a bond and travel through the Lichgates together mostly fighting off creatures that want to kill them and trying to find answers that seem to cause more complications than insightfulness, making things more difficult since they're not sure who they can trust. Although, they do seem to trust each other.
My favorite parts to the book were the characters. My favorite out of all the characters being Braeden. His struggle within himself, his family, and his feelings were great to read. I'm curious as to where his character will end up. Plus, I'm not sure what girl wouldn't read him and want a Braeden in their life. He a a very likeable character without even trying. Excellent. The main character was also fun to read because of her sassy mouth and sticking to her gun attitude. Always standing her ground and not letting the fact that she was a woman stand in her way. And the fact that she wouldn't wear a dress was great. (you'll understand once you read it)
At first there are a lot of characters and powers to keep up with. There are different worlds in the Lichgate that only houses certain creatures. Most of the Lichgate creatures don’t intertwine with one another and they can all do and look differently. They also all have different "pets" and there worlds look nothing alike. Once you understand it makes things easier. I probably had a harder time following to start because I have a hard time following movies like this. There are parts about Harry Potter that I still don’t understand.
If I had to compare the books for a reference I would say a mixture of Alice and Wonderland and Tron. When I was thinking about the book those were the two movies that came to mind. Even though the premises are not the same, it’s what kept popping in my head. I recommend picking up a copy. ****1/2

If I should Die (murder mystery/suspense)
I apologize for my tardiness on this book review. I finished it last week, but I’ve been so busy I haven’t had time to write up a review.
Another good one by Allison Brennan. The main reason I enjoyed this book was because the setting and the story line hit very close to home for me. The novel takes place in upstate New York which if you all know me I live right on the border of New York so I automatically was intrigued. Then once I read further into the book and realized that there were references to the big drug bust that happened a couple of years ago I felt like holy shit I remember that. To read about it (in a roundabout way) in a famous authors book was pretty cool. Especially since it rocked that area and surrounding towns. Front page news for our small little town of Mansfield.
The premises of this book are easy. Bad things happening in a small town that you would drive by and barely blink as you go by. Yet again, Lucy Kincaid and Sean Rogan find themselves starting with a simple case and then turns out to be their most complicated case yet. The lead antagonist in the book who shall not be name, but I will say it’s a she because it states that right away, was the best character in the book. To say she was crazy was an understatement. I imagined Aileen Wuornos meets Lorena Bobbit. Never turn your back on a dangerous woman. Reading her thoughts was fascinatingly scary to think that a person could be so cold and devious. It left me wanting to read more. I was also happy to read Agent Armstrong in the mix. His character seems to be in the works of throwing a wrench in things, but that’s just my opinion. I could be wrong, but I see something a brewing.
I would have to say that’s the best part of Brennan’s work. It’s not just the main characters that you want to read about. I’ve found in the three books that I’ve read that I’ve found myself wanting to read the second stream characters. When I read Karin Slaughter novels I want to read about Will and Sara, but with Brennan’s I want to read from the psycho’s point of view. She has a real knack for the crazy. I also found that the second book I guess it off right away, but this one there were so many twist and turns that I found myself trying to piece the puzzle together and still not seeing the BIG picture.
Definitely a must read and you don’t even have to start with the first book in order to follow what’s going on in the story. Can’t wait until April 24th for Silenced. *****

Kiss Me, Kill Me (murder mystery/suspense)
I was a big fan of this book. Like the first book in the Lucy Kincaid series, it had romance, mystery, family tension, and many questions answered little by little. Lucy travels to New York to look for a missing teenager with her boyfriend Sean Rogan. What starts as a search for a runaway kid with one too many secrets suddenly turns into a serial killer targeting young teenage girls outside of raves.
After reading Love Me To Death I knew all the characters so it made it easier to follow along. I really liked the way the story developed. I didn't have one moment when I thought a chapter was boring and dragged on, each one making me one to flip to the next. My favorite part of the book was surprisingly the female in charge of the case Suzanne Panetta. She was sarcastic, sassy, a real ball buster. Panetta was an interesting character to add to the mix and even though it might just be for this book, it's rare to like a character more than the main ones. Don't get me wrong I of course I loved Lucy and Sean characters and I liked how protective Lucy's brother was over her, but my favorite character in Kiss Me, Kill Me was Panetta. The only thing missing from this book was FBI agent Noah Armstrong. I'm looking forward to If I Should Die because Allison Brennan brings him back.
Another part I liked about this novel is the way the characters interact with one another. The way Lucy treats people is different from the way that Sean treats people. They see things completely differently, yet, they still mesh well together. He has no problem whatsoever breaking the law and has a hot temper, but it just makes his character that more fun to read. I wouldn't imagine the Sean and Lucy being together, but somehow it works. I'm looking forward to how their relationship will build. I don't see them being a long term couple, but we'll see. It could just be me hoping for a litte shake up. I like a little drama :)
I'm going to give this book ***** stars mainly because I loved the ending. The worse part of reviews is not being able to give too much away to the people who haven't read the book so I'll just leave it by saying the end of this book goes to a whole other level of crazy and I LOVED IT! I'm not sure if her novels are just that good or if I have no life, but I've placed an order for If I Should Die and I should be receiving it tomorrow, and most likely will be done with it by Saturday.

Love Me To Death (murder mystery/suspense)
1/8/12
Let me start by saying that it only took me a day to read this book. I couldn't put it down and each time I told myself that I needed to go to bed, I kept telling myself just one more chapter. I would recommend this book to people who like a good intriguing mystery. People who like to put themselves in the role of police officer and try and figure out who the bad guys are. I had a difficult time figuring out the players in this book, which is what kept me reading throughout the night.
The main character Lucy Kincaid has a tragic past, but a bright future. She struggles with trust and whether or not she will ever truly be able to move passed being attacked six years prior and become a FBI agent. She works with a company that tracks down paroled sex offenders through chat websites. When she stumbles across a pattern of paroled sex offenders being killed on the same night she was involved in setting their trap, she finds herself in a dangerous game that she doesn't know she's playing. With the help of Sean Rogan, a blue eyed private investigator that follows his rules first and the governments second, they slowly start to untangle the mess Lucy finds herself in the middle of. With Sean's help, her families help, and the FBI's help everyone struggles to keep Lucy safe, but what they don't realize there is one more obstacle they don't see. Which turns out to be the most dangerous.
What I liked the most was the characters. I loved Sean Rogan's character and Noah Armstrong (FBI Agent). I found myself wanting to read their thoughts more than the other characters. I also liked the romance development between Sean and Lucy. It was a little fast for my taste, but I found myself rooting for them. Plus, a little romance mixed with mystery, is always a plus in my eyes. I am excited to watch their characters developed in the next book. At first it's difficult to navigate through the many characters. Between the good guys and the bad guys there were more characters than I'm used to. I found myself asking, "Wait, who is this again?" I've also never read a book were the thoughts of the characters are intermingled. It was difficult to keep up with it at first, but once I got the hang of the writing style I didn't have a problem. Great read, already ordered Kiss Me Kill Me. ***3/4
